The veiled sheikhs of post-techno strike again.
The sufi poem says:
I sought a soul in the sea
And found a coral there;
Beneath the foam for me
An ocean was all laid bare.
Into my heart’s night
Along a narrow way
I groped; and lo! the light,
An infinite land of day.
The veil of the density and the archetype of darkness that enshrouds the music here is often mistaken by the trend of giving away as little as possible in order to acquire certain effects such as dumb down mystery or the escape from the obviousness that post-techno music hits with the beat and raw simplicity of its structure. But to me it is more of a metaphor that we can derive from understanding the literal and not-so-obvious understanding of basic concepts of identity and self-reassurance that are so obvious in today's post post-modern culture. It helps to understand why there is so many to reversible features to what seems like simple but it's not.
Newest album of RSS Boys as always strikes with monotonous pendicularity of african magic, glitchy production, post-techno squirm of illusory phantasms, Ballardian sense of humour and the menagerie of the ghosts that lie deep beyond the line of beat the imitate/stimulate/confabulate/...
